ACGME-International Advanced Specialty Program Requirements for Graduate Medical Education in Orthopeadic Surgery

I. Introduction
A. Definition and Scope of the Specialty
The surgical specialty of orthopedic surgery (Ophthalmological,Ophthalmologic, Ophthalmic, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics surgical microscope) includes the study and prevention of musculoskeletal diseases, disorders, and injuries and their treatment by medical, surgical, (orthopaedics surgical microscope,ophthalmological,ophthalmologic,ophthalmic,ophthalmology)and physical methods.
B. Duration of Education
Education in orthopedic(orthopaedics surgical microscope,ophthalmological, Ophthalmologic, Ophthalmic,Ophthalmology) operating must be 48 months in length.
II. Specialty Specific Educational Program
A. Resources
1. To provide an adequate interdisciplinary educational experience, the institution that sponsors the orthopedic (orthopaedics surgical microscope,ophthalmological, Ophthalmologic, Ophthalmic,Ophthalmology)  program should also participate in ACGME-I accredited programs in general operating, internal medicine, and pediatrics.
2. Resources for scholarly activity by residents must include laboratory space and equipment(orthopaedics surgical microscope,ophthalmological,ophthalmologic,ophthalmology, Ophthalmic),computer and data analysis services,statistical consultation services, research conferences, faculty expertise and supervision, support personnel, time, and funding.
3. Clinical problems of sufficient variety and volume to afford the residents adequate experience(orthopaedics surgical microscope,ophthalmological,ophthalmologic,ophthalmology, Ophthalmic) in the diagnosis and management of adult and pediatric orthopedic disorders must be available.
a. Each resident should be the surgeon or 1st assistant for at least 200 cases per year and see at least 750 outpatients per year.
B. Clinical Experience
1. The four accredited years must include at least three years of rotations on orthopedic services (Orthopaedics surgical microscope,Ophthalmological,Ophthalmologic,Ophthalmology, Ophthalmic)
2. Residents’ clinical education must include extensive experience in preoperative evaluation and decision (Orthopaedics surgical microscope,Ophthalmological,Ophthalmologic,Ophthalmic ophthalmology) making,intra-operative treatment, immediate and long-term postoperative care of both inpatients and outpatients(ophthalmological,ophthalmologic,ophthalmic,ophthalmology, Orthopaedics surgical microscope).
3. Basic motor skills must be taught during clinical activities, especially in the operating room.

III. ACGME Competencies

2. gathering essential and accurate information about their patients;

4. developing and carrying out patient management plans;
